Central Park West Dentistry

I have been seeing Dr. John Lhota for a decade if not more. My thoughts about Dr. Lhota can be summed up from the following experience:

My first visit with Dr. Lhota was an emergency. I felt a lot of pain brought on by plaque hitting a nerve which required a little bit of scraping. The procedure should have taken 5 minutes, but because of my fear and crying spells it took well over an hour. Dr. Lhota's indefatigable efforts to alleviate my pain were impressive. He was gentle, patient and more importantly empathetic.

He takes more than enough time to explain the treatment.

Recently, my insurance has changed and I will not receive coverage, however I will skim elsewhere if needed. I will not see another dentist (unless it's his wife :).

As an effort of giving back to the community, he and his team offered a full day of free dental services for children.

Let me preface this review by saying that I have never liked the dentist ever since I was a kid. After leaving Dr Lhota's practice yesterday, my view has definitely changed.

As soon as I walked through the door I was greeted by Tatiana. She offered me something to drink and I chose to have a Keurig coffee. I was so happy they had that cause I love Keurig coffee. She then asked me to fill out the new patient forms which did not take too long at all. I could have gone to their website and printed them off but I did not have the time. I was then entered into a drawing they are having for a Sonicare toothbrush. I hope I win!! Very shortly after my paperwork was finished I was asked to come back to have my X-Rays and my exam done. Dr Lhota and his staff were very nice and explained everything in great detail so I knew what was going to be done during the appointment. There was no pain at all and my cleaning was done in no time. Not only does Dr Lhota do general dentistry but he also does cosmetic work. Good to know because I definitely need a whitening soon. Dr Lhota was gentle and very thorough. After my exam Tatiana was waiting for me with a big smile and a goodie bag filled with floss, toothpaste a toothbrush and some other things. Without hesitation I set up my next appointment 6 months down the road. Tatiana also told me that the patient who refers the most friends to Dr Lhota's practice will win a smart car!!! Are you serious? That's awesome. I hope I win that too. Not only can you win the smart car but for everyone you refer you also get a gift card of your choice. This place is awesome! All my fears of the dentist are now non existent. This practice is awesome and their staff is really on top of their game, especially Tatiana. I cannot wait to refer my friends! I must say sorry to all the other dentists out there because I am now with Dr Lhota for life!! Thank you.

For the last 20 years I visited the same dental office twice a year like clockwork. They pulled out several of my baby teeth, saw me through braces and whitened my smile before heading off to college. The office staff grew to become my friends and visiting the office was like home. For someone who dreads having any kind of dental work done that was important. After moving to New York I was terrified at the idea of going to a new dental office, one that didn’t know every detail of my dental history or understand the stress and paranoia a dental visit could bring me. Off a recommendation, I tried Central Park West Dentistry and to my pleasant surprise I found my new dental home!

The front desk staff was warm and inviting, carefully walking me through every step of my visit and the office procedures. They treated me like a new friend, not just another patient. Monique, my new favorite hygienist, was patient and understanding throughout my cleaning when my 'anxiety' flared up as she deep cleaned my pearly whites! She also introduced me to the importance of fluoride treatments. Dr. Lhota’s evaluation of my x-rays and his own inspection of my teeth was very thorough and I was impressed with the cutting edge technology he used to hunt down cavities. He also suggested I start using a new tooth paste that has made all the difference for my sensitive teeth. To top everything off I was rewarded for being on time for my appointment, with an entry into their monthly raffle! I didn’t win the Kindle but I got something much better; a fabulous new dental office!

I've been going yo Dr. Lhota for a little over a year now. Prior to finding this dentist, I was terrified of going and dreaded stepping into a dentists' office. But Dr. Lhota and his staff is so friendly, professional, and just really put me at ease, and actually turned going to the dentist into a pleasant experience! Everything from my cleanings down to having cavities filled was fast, efficient, and no pain! I'm just glad I found a great dentist in this huge city!
